At the end of the month, you can easily update your periods by using the Calendar - update Current and Last Open calendar periods script.
For example, you could run the script on the last or first day of the month to set the last open period. Then, when you have finished your end-of-month processes, you could update the new month as the current period.

Go to System > Utilities > System Scripts.

On the Syststem Scripts screen, select Standard Scripts.

In the list of Generic scripts, select Calendar - update Current and Last Open calendar periods.

Select the Output to screen checkbox.

Click Run script. The Set Calendar periods screen opens.

Select a Calendar, e.g. your June calendar.
- Choose which modules to update and whether to update the Current period or Last open period.
- Click Set periods. The Jade Interpreter window opens and shows you what has been updated.
