Useful scripts and rules
Businesses often have similar requirements for exports and imports and bulk updates. We have developed a number of scripts and rules that you may find useful.

Extract values from masterfiles. The Greentree Excel add-in, Free, has a small number of functions where you can get data from Greentree for certain classes. For example, you can use the following existing functions to do this:

gtINStockItemAttribute – to get values for a stock item.

gtGL – to get values for a GL Account.

gtJCJobAttribute – to get values for a Job.
This can now be done using a FREE function that will execute a custom script to do this for other master files, such as a supplier or a fixed asset.

Bulk Archive Inventory Items – A rule is now available that can archive stock items from a CSV file.

Import JC Price Books – A rule is now available that can import a new, or update existing, job price book from a CSV file.

Print a Put Away slip for a PO receipt – A rule is now available that will print a Put Away slip when you save a PO receipt. This also requires a report in the required format.

Lists Alert Collections – Alerts collections may be updating on an ongoing basis even though they are no longer being used. To help tidy up this area, a rule is available that will list each alert collection, which rule/s are associated with it and what desktops it is being used on to help you tidy the area up

Lists rules that send emails – A rule is available that will list all rules that send an email. Useful if you are struggling to find this information due to the number of rules in your system

Often Bills of Material are set up so that the component qtys are fixed. Because things change over time, a rule is available to update this flag in bulk, so changes can be made to those qtys

Updating attachments – A rule is available that allows attachments to be loaded in bulk against certain records

Customers with no sales – A rule is available that can make customers inactive if they have 0 sales for the current or last YTD
