We're phasing out email as a two-factor authentication option in MYOB Acumatica
Starting September 1 2026, email will no longer be an option for 2FA for new users, or for existing users when they reset their password
From 1 September 2026, email will no longer be an option for 2FA for new MYOB Acumatica users, or for existing users who reset their 2FA method. We're making this change to help keep your company and personal info safe, as email is the least secure authentication method.
Users who are already using email for 2FA can continue to do so throughout 2026. In 2027 we plan to remove the option completely, so change now to avoid getting caught out.
This only applies to you if you sign in to MYOB Acumatica using the Sign in with MYOB ID option.
Changing your 2FA method to SMS or authenticator app
You can add and remove 2FA methods by logging into My Account.
For Acumatica customers, the My Account portal is only used for managing your 2FA security settings. If you get lost, open the menu at the top-right and click Account security.
-
Sign into the Account security screen in My Account.
Use the same email address, password and 2FA you use to sign in to Acumatica with the purple Sign in with MYOB ID button. - Check the Authentication menu to see your current 2FA methods.

- Click the Add button next to your chosen authentication option and follow the instructions.
For the Authenticator app option, you'll need to install an app such as Google Authenticator onto your mobile device. - After you've added your new authentication method you can start using it to sign in to MYOB Acumatica.
- If you want to remove email as an Authentication option, open the ellipses menu and click Remove.
If you remove email as an authentication option you cannot add it again later.
