Email Fails to Send: “Illegal Characters in Path”

If you encounter the error “Illegal characters in path” when sending an email from Acumatica, follow the steps below

1. Check Image File Names

  • Ensure any images used in the email or template have a valid file extension (e.g. .jpg, .png, .gif)

  • If an image is missing an extension, save it with a valid file name and reinsert it into the email

2. Check Attachment Permissions

  • Go to File Maintenance

  • Locate the attached file or image

  • Ensure the file is marked as Public

  • Save and try sending the email again

3. Remove Linked Images

  • If the email contains images with embedded links, remove them

  • Reinsert the image without any links and resend the email
