Error: "GL Posting Class cannot be null" when creating a new pay run

This error occurs when clicking on Manage Pays (MPPP4110) if an employee is missing either a WorkCover code or payroll GL posting class.

The error “Sequence contains more than one element” occurs on Manage Pays (MPPP4110) if you try to create a new pay run while one or more employees have an empty WorkCover Code (AU only) or Payroll Posting Class field in Pay Details (MPPP2310) > Employee Defaults. This is usually for a new employee.

This error stops you from creating pay runs, so you need to fix it to continue.

Fixing the "GL Posting Class cannot be null" error

To fix the error you need to find the employee with the empty fields and update their pay details.

1. Go to Pay Details and find the employee with missing fields.
   This is usually a new employee.
2. Open the Employee Defaults tab and select the missing WorkCover Code or Payroll Posting Class.
   
3. Go back to Manage Pays and try creating the pay run again.
