Error when creating pay run: "KiwiSaver rates are below the new default minimum of 3.5%" (NZ)
Fix the error by updating your KiwiSaver rates, adding rate reductions, or removing a pay item from employees that don't receive employer contributions.
The error occurs because KiwiSaver contributions need to meet the default minimum of 3.5%, unless the employee has received a rate reduction. Otherwise, you can't create or adjust a pay run until you've updated KiwiSaver rates.
If an employee does not receive employer contributions
For employees that do not receive employer contributions to KiwiSaver, you get this error if you've set the employer KiwiSaver pay item to 0% and selected the Override legislated KiwiSaver Employer Super Contribution rate checkbox.

To fix the error for these employees:
-
Go to the Pay Details form (MPPP2310).
-
Select an employee that doesn't receive employer contributions to KiwiSaver.
-
Remove the employer KiwiSaver pay item from the Standard Pay tab. Do not keep the employer KiwiSaver pay item on the employee’s standard pay with a 0% rate.
You can now create a pay run.
