Error: "PaySuper cannot be enabled if there are overridden active superfunds"

Resolve the error by marking overridden super funds as inactive

Pay Super requires all super funds to be valid. Because an overridden fund might not be valid, you can't use Pay Super if the fund is marked as active.

MACU_PaySuper_OverriddenActiveSuperfunds

    1. Go to the Superannuation Funds form (MPPP2152).
    2. In the list of funds, look for any that have both the Override (must use SAFF) and Active checkboxes selected.
    3. Deselect the Active checkboxes.
    4. Replace the overridden funds with valid funds. The funds on the Superannuation Funds form should have correct unique superannuation identifiers (see the USI column). You can use the Super Fund Lookup to check if a fund's USI is valid.
    5. Save your changes. You can now enable Pay Super on the Payroll Preferences form (MPPP1100).

Use valid super funds to avoid getting the error again

There are some common scenarios that can cause the error:

  • An employee provides a fund that is not listed in the official registry.
  • A fund is manually entered with an incorrect or outdated USI.
  • A valid fund is overridden instead of being selected from the verified list.

To help prevent the error:

  • Only use valid super funds, either from the MYOB list or the ATO’s Super Fund Lookup.
  • If you can't verify that an employee's super fund is valid, ask the employee to provide a contributions letter from the fund.
  • Avoid overriding super funds unless absolutely necessary. If you must override a fund, ensure it's deactivated before enabling Pay Super.
