EWS deprecation: Updating your Microsoft Exchange configuration to Microsoft Graph

From 1 October 2026, Microsoft are starting to deprecate Exhange Web Services (EWS). Here's how to switch your Exchange integration to Microsoft Graph.

From 1 October 2026, Microsoft are starting to deprecate Exhange Web Services (EWS), which will stop Microsoft Exchange integration working for many MYOB Acumatica sites. For details of the deprecation, see Microsoft Exchange Team Blog: Exchange Online EWS, Your Time is Almost Up.

With version 2025R2, MYOB Acumatica added Microsoft Graph, the replacement for EWS, as an option for Exchange Integration. This page takes you through how to update your configuration to use the new standard to make sure your integration keeps working.

  1. Go to External Applications (SM301000) and create a new Application ID.
  2. Go to the Exchange Integration Configuration (SM204015)
  3. Select Microsoft Graph (Microsoft 365) from the Web Services field.
  4. Update the Authentication Settings section.
    • Select the External Application you created at step 1.
    • Enter your Azure Tenant ID if it isn't automatically populated.
You can get it from your Microsoft Entra ID configuration, but may also be found in your configuration on the Email Accounts (SM204002) screen.
  5. Click Sign in.
    • If everything is set up correctly you will see the message "The operation has completed."
    • If sign in isn't successful, go back and double check your tenant ID, client ID and client secret.
  6. Check your exchange integration is working as expected.
    • Leave your configuration on the Exchange Synchronisation Policies (SM204010) and Exchange Synchronisation Process (SM204030) screens as-is.
    • Only change your Email Preferences (SM204001) if you're also adding more email accounts as part of the change.
