Get ready for stapled super fund lookup with Flare onboarding

From 1 July 2026, stapled fund lookups will become a mandatory step in the Flare onboarding process. Here's how to get MYOB Acumatica — Workforce Management ready.

If you use Flare's automated super fund lookup in your onboarding process, you need to get ready for stapled fund lookup, which is mandatory from 1 July.

Staple fund lookup automatically checks with the ATO for the onboarding employee's stapled fund, and gives it to them as an option on the Nominate a super fund screen.

To get ready you need to do two things:

  1. Use ATO Access Manager to give Flare access to your employee commencement forms.
  2. Contact MYOB, or your MYOB Acumatica partner, to get your Flare integration configured for the change.

Setting up ATO Access Manager

Access Manager is the ATO tool you can use to let online services (such as Flare) access ATO info and use ATO services on your behalf. For more info about exactly how this works, see Access Manager for ATO online services.

To use Flare's stapled super fund lookup in onboarding, you need to sign in to Access Manager and set up access, then let Flare know it's done.

To set up these permissions, you need a Digital ID, such as myID, and be the Principal Authority or an Authorised Administrator within the ATO Relationship Access Manager (RAM) for the business.

  1. Go to Access Manager and click Continue with Digital ID.
  2. Click Select myID.
  3. Enter your myID email and click Get code. Use the code to verify your identity on
    the myID app.
  4. If you have access to multiple companies, select which company you'd like to
authorise for super stapling and click Continue.
  5. In the Access Manager menu > Business Appointments > Who has access to
my business, click Appoint new business.

  6. In the Enter ABN field, enter 46607120892 (or Flare HR Pty Ltd in the Business Name field) and click Continue.
  7. Scroll down to Employee commencement form and select the options for View,
    Prepare and Lodge.
  8.  Click Save. FLARE HR PTY LTD is now listed as an appointed business authorised to perform stapled super fund lookups.
  9. When you have completed the above, confirm authorisation by filling out this form. More info is available on Flare's support article.

Updating your MYOB Acumatica Flare integration

Once you've given Flare access in ATO Access Manager you need to update your Flare integration settings so that the right information is brought through from the ATO.

  1. Go to Settings > Company Settings > Onboarding and make sure a valid fund is selected in the Default super fund name field.
If you're not sure, reselect your default fund.
  2. Go to Settings > Integrations.

You may not have seen this menu before, but we've given users with Administrator permission access to this screen so they can make this change.
  3. Click the pencil icon to edit the existing flare_apollo integration, then save it without making any changes.
This adds new fields through to the integration, which are required for stapled fund lookup. These fields are called attributes, and each has an Attribute Name and an Attribute Value.
  4. Edit the flare_apollo integration again and fill out any empty attributes.
    • Only complete attributes with an empty Attribute Value field. Any others should be left alone.
    • All fields are required, except address 2, which can be left blank
    • For countryCode, enter "AU"
    • The firstname, lastName, email, and mobilePhone fields are used by Flare for support notifications.
    • The businessName field must match the name shown in ABN lookup.
  5. Once you've updated any empty Attribute Value fields, click Update.

Once both the ATO Access Manager and Flare integration have been setup, stapled fund lookup will be available to new onboarding employees.
