Managing the size of your database
While a database that is slightly too big is unlikely to have a significant effect on performance, there are some housekeeping steps you can take to keep it as small as possible.
- Avoid keeping multiple test, demo or training tenants in production.
- This increases the database size, and can make the site slower.
- This applies to snapshots as well. Delete them after they’re used or exported.
- Refer to Managing tenants and snapshots for further information
- Monitor your audit history – Only audit what's required. The audit history of user operations that is keep in the system can be modified on Security Preferences (SM201060)
- Periodically export your Access History to Excel, then delete it from the system.
- Set your automation schedule history to remember the last fifty runs or so. Don’t set it to one as it can be useful.
- Optimize the database on the Tenants screen (SM203520)
- Utilize Archiving Documents (SM500400)
