Passkeys – Secure sign-in without a password
Passkeys let you sign in to MYOB Acumatica without entering an email address, password or 2FA code. Instead, confirm it’s you on a trusted device – for example with fingerprint or facial recognition (like Face ID or Touch ID), or your device PIN.
How passkeys work
A passkey is a secure sign-in key saved to your device or password manager. It only works between your device (or password manager) and MYOB, proving it’s really you without sending a password or showing you a code you could read or share. Your passkey stays on your device and never leaves it, so there’s nothing useful for scammers to steal from emails or fake websites. It's an industry-standard way of signing in that helps protect you from stolen credentials, lockouts and fraud.
A passkey doesn’t remove your existing password. You can still sign in with your email and password if you need to. You might still be prompted to enter a 2FA code in some situations, like when you change your security settings.
To keep your passkeys safe, do not share them with anyone, including work colleagues. Only you should log in with a passkey that you've added to your account. For more security standards, see Keeping your MYOB Acumatica site secure.
Multiple passkeys give you more options
You can have up to 5 passkeys – like a passkey on your phone, your work computer and a hardware key. This gives you:
- backups if one device isn’t available. For example, if you lose your phone or leave it at home, you can still sign in with the passkey on your office computer.
- flexibility to sign in across different platforms and devices (e.g. you have an iPhone, but your work laptop uses Windows).
Setting up passkeys
You can set up your passkeys in the My Account portal. For MYOB Acumatica customers, My Account is only used for managing your 2FA security settings.
