Updating annual leave requests after adding unpaid breaks to the work calendar (NZ)

Adding breaks to a work calendar will not update existing annual leave requests that have been submitted using ESS. Here's how to sort it.

When you update a pay group's work calendar to include breaks, it does not apply those changes to existing leave requests.

Here's how to update them manually to make sure the number of hours of annual leave requested are correct.

This only affects leave requests that use Hours or Weeks for the unit. No manual update is needed if you measure leave in Days.

  1. Edit all the leave requests individually to include the break times.
    This corrects the quantity of annual leave on the requests.
  2. Go to the Pay Group tab of the Pay Details screen, and re-add the work calendar to the pay group so that it is using the updated calendar (you should always do this when updating the work calendar).
  3. Approve the leave requests as you normally would.
  4. Import the leave into the current pay.
