Receiving an intermittent error message when attempting to add KIT to Opportunities or Sales Proposal. “Error: An error occurred during processing of the field Inventory ID value xx IN Error. The inventory item is a template item.” 

Workaround

After refreshing the page, the error disappears and you can re-add the data
