Setting up 2FA in version 2023.1

These instructions are for versions 2023.1.8 and earlier. If you're using version 2024.1 or later, see our help for those versions.

To check your version, see the Build number at the bottom of the sign-in screen.

To start signing in with 2FA, you need to associate an MYOB ID account with your MYOB Acumatica account.

Which email address to use for MYOB ID

Your MYOB Acumatica and MYOB ID accounts must use the same email address. It needs to be a unique email address that only you have access to, like your work email address. Don't use a shared inbox email address or someone else’s email address.

If you already have an MYOB ID account (e.g. that you used to sign in to another MYOB product), you don't have to create a new one. As long as it uses the same email address as your MYOB Acumatica account, you'll be asked to sign in with your existing account when associating the two accounts.

You can check your MYOB Acumatica email address on the General Info tab of the User Profile form.

Associating accounts

  1. Sign in to MYOB Acumatica using the green Sign In button.

  2. In the top right, click your username and then click My Profile.

  3. On the General Info tab, check the email address is one that only you have access to. MYOB 2FA does not work with shared email addresses.

  4. Click the External Identities tab.

  5. Select the row with MYOB in the Provider Name column by clicking anywhere in the row.

  6. Click Associate User.

    Depending on if you have an existing MYOB ID account, you'll either be taken to the the Sign up to MYOB screen or the Sign in to MYOB screen.

  7. If you're signing up to create a new account, follow the instructions. Make sure you use the same email address you checked on your user profile. Because this is a new account, you should use a new password.
  8. After creating a new account or signing in to your existing one, you can start signing in to MYOB Acumatica using the purple Secure Authentication button. In version 2024.2, this button has been re-labelled Sign in with MYOB ID, but it still works the same.
